Supporting Two Incredible Charities

Check Your Ducks & OurJay Foundation

We’re proud to raise awareness for two incredible charities making a real difference throughout Rugby, Coventry and Warwickshire: Check Your Ducks and the OurJay Foundation.

Check your Ducks

A Simple Reminder That Could Save a Life

Check Your Ducks encourages everyone to check themselves regularly for early signs of cancer—especially on the 17th of every month, known as “Check Your Ducks Day”.

Ducks can be bought for just £1 across Rugby, Coventry and nearby areas. These bright little reminders spark conversations and encourage regular checks, whether you’re at home, work or out and about.

The Story Behind the Ducks

Founded by Tracie Mills after her 2013 breast cancer diagnosis, Check Your Ducks began as a small fundraising effort for a chemotherapy chair. Thanks to incredible community support, it has grown into a well-loved local charity helping improve cancer care across the region.

With minimal overheads and a dedicated team now supporting Tracie’s vision, every penny raised goes directly to patients and families.

If you’d like to support the cause, volunteer or become a “Duckling”, the team would be delighted to welcome you.

The OurJay Foundation

Because Every Second Counts

The OurJay Foundation is dedicated to increasing the number of 24/7 publicly accessible defibrillators across Rugby, Warwickshire and beyond, following the tragic loss of Jamie Rees (“Jay”). Their mission is clear: no one should be without access to life-saving equipment when every moment matters.

Working alongside local councils, businesses and community groups, the foundation funds and installs accessible AEDs in strategic, public locations—giving communities the tools they need in an emergency.

Saving Lives Through Training and Education

The foundation also campaigns passionately for CPR and AED training to become a standard part of education across the UK. They provide CPR/AED training to the public, helping more people gain the confidence to act quickly and effectively in a crisis.

Funds raised are used to:

  • Provide CPR training (including AED use) for people across Rugby and Warwickshire

  • Purchase and maintain 24/7 publicly accessible defibrillators

  • Continue campaigning for life-saving skills to be included in all UK school curriculums

These efforts have already transformed local communities—and continue to save lives.
